Day 1, Arrival
Independent arrival from the train station to your hotel, which is just a short walk from the medieval town of Sarlat. Check in and have the remainder of the day at your own leisure.
Day 2, Sarlat gourmet tour market visit
Welcome to Sarlat! One of the most fascinating small towns of France. Today is market day, so follow your guide through the winding streets and stroll through the colourful stalls as he introduces you to the local delicacies. Your tour will include stops where you will taste delicious specialties of the region including duck, cheese, walnut & wine. (B)
Day 3, Castles & Garden of the Dordogne Valley
Breakfast at your hotel before your full day tour, which will take you along the Dordogne River to discover some of the most beautiful medieval castles the region has to offer. Today, the castles of Castelnaud, Milandes and Marqueyssac will be on your itinerary and some of the most thrilling scenic stops will also be suggested. Entrance fees and meal are not included. (B)
Day 4, Villages of the Dordogne River
This half day tour is dedicated to the visit of some of the most beautiful villages that line the Dordogne River. The tour will head to the villages of Domme, Beynac and La Roque-Gageac that you will visit with your guide. You will also enjoy a lovely & peaceful boat ride on the Dordogne River, classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2012.

Day 1, 24 April – From Paris
Depart Paris and visit the 1916 Somme Battlefields including Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme and the Thiepval Interpretation Centre, Pozieres, Moquet Farm and the New Zealand Memorial of Longueval. A snack lunch is included today. Dinner is included at your hotel. (L, D)
Day 2, 25 April – Anzac Day
An early start is needed today to attend the Dawn Service at the Australian National Memorial and afterwards, the French Memorial Service in Villers-Bretonneux. At the conclusion of the services, a visit to the Franco Australian Museum at the Victoria School in Villers Bretonneux has been included along with visits to Adelaide Cemetery and Le Hamel. A breakfast pack has been included today for your convenience with an early morning departure.
Dinner is included tonight in a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 3, 26 April – Somme Battlefields to Paris
First stop this morning is to visit the Sir John Monash Centre, adjacent to the Australian National Memorial at Villers Bretonneux, which opened in April 2018. Later, visit 1918 Somme Battlefields including the 2nd Australian Division Memorial at Mont St Quentin and the town of Peronne to visit the Historical de la Grand Guerre.
Return to Paris with two drop off options – either Charles de Gaulle Airport at approximately 4:00 – 4:30 pm or one Paris city centre at approximately 5:00 pm (corner of Rue Lafayette & Rue Riboutte). (B)
